The Bank of Industry (BOI) remains steadfast in its mission to advance Nigerian industries by empowering businesses that drive innovation, create jobs, and boost local production.
Founded in 2006 as a retail and wholesale distributor of furniture and accessories in Abuja, G.U. Ebeco took a bold step in 2013 to venture into furniture manufacturing. This strategic move was in response to the Federal Government’s Import Substitution policy and the growing demand for Made-in-Nigeria furniture from the country’s expanding middle class.
In 2020, the company accessed a BOI loan facility to expand its factory operations. Situated on a 1.1-hectare site in the IDU Industrial Area, the funds were used to acquire state-of-the-art manufacturing equipment. As part of its expansion plan, G.U. Ebeco launched another factory in the Dei-Dei building area. An additional enhancement loan from BOI later enabled the purchase of advanced machinery from Europe, further strengthening the company’s production capabilities.
Today, G.U. Ebeco employs over 300 direct and indirect staff, producing high-quality furniture that meets both local and international standards. This growth story reflects the resilience and potential of Nigerian entrepreneurship, and the powerful role BOI plays in driving industrial expansion, job creation, and the growth of Nigeria’s manufacturing sector.
By backing businesses like G.U. Ebeco, BOI continues to fuel productivity, innovation, and economic development across Nigeria.
