Managed fund, also known as ‘’Intervention funds’’ is a special fund set aside by government or individuals to intervene in a particular sector or cater for a particular interest. These type of funds are usually laced with concessionary benefits such as relatively low or zero interest rates, longer tenors and moratorium and other support incentives targeted at the would-be beneficiaries.
The funds are usually kept under the management and supervision of reputable fund managers.
BOI manages over 10 special funds valued at about N1.0 trillion owned by Federal Government Institutions and high net worth Individuals under various schemes.
Applications for Managed Funds are received and processed by the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. BOI’s role is limited to disbursement, implementation, monitoring and recovery.
